I reached out to support and waited for days, but apparently getting an actual response was too much to ask. Still haven’t heard anything useful, so that’s been fun...

The board itself looks nice, but the pieces just seem kind of weird in person. It feels a little off, like they don’t quite match the look of the board.

I really like the board when it’s working, but the Bluetooth drops way too often in the middle of games. I’ve tried restarting it, sitting closer, messing with it a bit... but it still doesn’t stay connected reliably enough for me

It’s okay. Not terrible or anything. Just not as sturdy as I thought it would be. A few parts flex more than I’d like, and the finish is kind of average. It works fine so far, no real issues there. But for the price, yeah... I was hoping it would feel a little more solid

I bought this because I thought it would be something I could easily take with me, but it’s just kind of awkward to pack up and carry around. I had this whole plan of bringing it along most days, like when I’m running errands or heading out with my bag and coffee and way too many random receipts I never throw away, but that didn’t really happen. After trying a few times, I mostly just left it at home. Disappointing since portability was the main reason I got it

I just don’t feel like this was worth the money. It’s not that it’s completely terrible or unusable, but for the price, I expected a lot more than what I actually got. When I buy something at this price point, I’m expecting it to either feel higher quality, work better, or at least give me the sense that the cost makes sense, and this just didn’t do that for me. It feels overpriced for what it offers, and I probably wouldn’t buy it again.

The shipping was frustrating. I kept waiting and checking for updates, and then suddenly two weeks had gone by with basically no info at all. I get that delays happen, but not knowing what was going on made it way more annoying than it needed to be

I bought a chess board from chessnutech after a friend recommended it to me, and it worked well at first. After a few weeks though, one of the sensors started acting strange, which was disappointing because I was enjoying using it.

Trying to go through the warranty process was more frustrating than I expected. They asked me for videos, photos, order details, and then I felt like I had to explain the same issue more than once before getting a clear answer.

They did eventually offer a replacement, so I’ll give them credit for that, but the shipping and updates were slow. I wouldn’t say it was a terrible experience, but the whole warranty process was definitely more tiring than it needed to be

I expected the setup to be simple, but pairing it was a hassle from the start. I had to keep trying to get it connected, and by the time it finally worked, it had taken way longer than I thought it would. Once you’ve spent that much time just trying to get something paired, it’s hard not to feel frustrated

I mostly got it for my usual online chess sites. Tried it there first. Connected right away, which was all I needed. No strange setup, no messing around with settings. Just opened it, used it, and it worked fine for me.

I’ve been using the Chessnutech app for a bit now, and it’s been easy to figure out. The menus feel straightforward, so I’m assuming they were going for a no-fuss kind of setup, which I appreciate. The only thing is that it can be a little slow to load on my phone sometimes, but nothing too frustrating. Overall, it does what I need it to do. I’d give it 4 stars.

I’ve been trying to spot a pattern in when it misreads pieces, but it seems to happen all over the place. Even with good lighting and a clear setup, it keeps mixing up pieces that should be easy to tell apart. It’s frustrating because I keep double-checking the board, thinking maybe I’m doing something wrong, but the recognition just isn’t reliable.

I tried updating the firmware and it failed twice, which was already frustrating enough. I reached out to support, but it felt like I got stuck in a loop of repeating the same info and waiting around for the next reply. Eventually I just wanted a clear fix, but the whole process took way longer than it should have

I played a few matches and overall it worked fine for me, but I did notice the controls felt a little delayed at times. It didn’t completely ruin my experience, but I definitely prefer games that feel smoother and more responsive

I’ve been happy with the battery so far. I charged it once and played a handful of games throughout the week, and it still had some power left. It’s just nice not having to keep plugging it in all the time. If battery life is something you care about, this one might be worth a look

I tried the move detection a few times, it just didn’t work well for me. It kept missing pieces or showing moves that weren’t right, and from the way it kept messing things up, I kind of got the feeling it was just guessing half the time. After a few games got thrown off, I ended up giving up on it.

My order did show up on time, so I’ll give them that, but the packaging was disappointing. The box was bent, and there was barely any padding inside, so the chess pieces were just rattling around the whole way. Thankfully nothing was actually broken, but for the price, I expected way more care. They make it sound like everything is packed safely and handled with attention, but that felt like a vague promise once I opened the box. Kind of a letdown.
